The Washington State Department of Transportation will remove all southbound lanes of Interstate 405 in Bothell for a 54-hour window beginning Friday night. The closure starts at 10 p.m. on Oct. 30 and ends at 4 a.m. on Nov. 2, covering the stretch between State Route 527 and State Route 522.
Crews will use the shutdown to detach a section of the pedestrian bridge at the Canyon Park Park and Ride. This removal is part of the I-405/Brickyard to SR 527 Improvement Project. The pedestrian bridge will be inaccessible from 12:01 a.m. on Oct. 30 until a replacement structure opens in 2028.
Drivers heading north will face a similar full closure the following weekend. WSDOT plans to close all northbound lanes from Nov. 6 through Nov. 9. During that period, workers will remove a portion of the northbound pedestrian bridge.
The agency directs motorists to its website for updated travel information. The project timeline extends through 2028, with the new bridge serving as the final phase of the corridor improvements.
