Users can interact with the digital player and listen to 90-second previews of early 2000s tracks on music.apple.com.

Apple has placed a functional replica of the original iPod on the error page of its music website, marking the 25th anniversary of the device's October 23, 2001 debut.
The feature, identified by user Kian on X, appears when visitors access music.apple.com/ipod or any other non-existent path on the domain. Instead of a standard error message, the browser renders the classic hardware interface.
The virtual device replicates the physical controls. Clicking the on-screen buttons allows users to navigate through a set of pre-installed songs. The scroll wheel functions similarly to the real hardware, responding to click and drag inputs to move through the list.
The tracklist consists of artists who were popular at the time of the product launch. Selecting a song plays a 90-second preview directly within the web interface, requiring no additional software or app installation.
The interactive page serves as a digital tribute rather than a product announcement. No details indicate plans for a new hardware release. Apple Music remains available for a monthly fee of $11.99 or as part of the Apple One bundle.
