The bar at The Curb will begin pouring drinks today, three months after a kitchen fire forced the Meridian restaurant to close its doors. The owners have decided to reopen the beverage section immediately while the culinary team continues repair work in the back.

The fire, which occurred in August, caused substantial damage to the kitchen area, necessitating a full shutdown of food service. Although the building is now accessible to the public, the cooking facilities are not yet operational. The management team described the kitchen as currently under construction.

Owners of the establishment stated that opening the bar was a priority to provide immediate work for the staff who had been out of employment since the August incident. The local ownership group chose to restart operations as quickly as possible to support the employees while they complete the necessary rebuild.

Customers entering The Curb will not be able to order full meals from the menu. Instead, the staff will offer chips, dip, and popcorn as frequently as possible while the kitchen repairs continue. The restaurant has asked patrons to bring food from home or order from outside delivery services if they require a larger meal to accompany their beverages.

The Curb has been a long-time fixture in the Meridian dining scene. The closure affected not only the customer base but also the local community that relies on the business for jobs. By reopening the bar section, the owners aim to reintegrate the staff into the daily workflow while they wait for the final phase of construction.

An online invitation from The Curb acknowledges that the current setup is a temporary measure. The message notes that the team is working to adjust to the partial operations and asks for customer patience. The bar will remain open for service immediately, marking the first time the venue has welcomed guests since the fire.
