Seattle police are looking for a gunman who shot two men on Rainier Avenue South and South Holden Street on Wednesday night. The incident followed a physical dispute that started on a Metro bus and continued as the passengers exited at a stop.

Officers received reports of the shooting at approximately 10:10 p.m. They found two men with gunshot wounds at the scene. One victim, a 26-year-old man, sustained a wound to his wrist. The other, a 33-year-old man, was hit in the leg. Seattle Fire Department medics transported both men to Harborview Medical Center. Their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The conflict originated aboard the Metro bus. According to the Seattle Police Department, the suspect argued with the two victims inside the vehicle. The fight persisted after they stepped off at the bus stop. The suspect then fired the shots and fled westbound on South Holden Street.

A bystander who witnessed the aftermath told FOX 13 Seattle that he heard seven to 11 shots fired. He recalled a final shot after the initial volley and saw police arrive quickly. He observed one man being loaded into an ambulance.

Officers brought a K9 unit to the area to assist in the search. As of 8 a.m. on Thursday, the suspect had not been found. The Seattle Police Department had not yet released a description of the individual.

Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation. They are working to determine the specific details that led to the altercation. The department has asked anyone with information to contact the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
