KBOO will air a special edition of Cascadia Coffeehouse this Friday morning to mark the beginning of November. The broadcast focuses on new releases and upcoming live events in the Pacific Northwest folk scene. The program runs from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. on the station's Folk Strip.
The lineup includes new music from Mama's Broke, Lindsay Lou, Bruce Cockburn, and Murphy Campbell. Listeners will also hear tracks from Ken and Brad Kolodner, Hannah and Nathan, and Mad Uncle Harry. The show serves as a curated showcase for regional artists and established acts in the roots genre.
Producers will preview several upcoming concerts during the hour. Featured events include performances by Chris Smither, Emily Scott Robinson, and a joint show with Peter Rowan and Sam Grisman. The segment also revisits favorites from David Rawlings, Cahalen Morrison, and Pharis and Jason Romero. Other artists featured include Dougie MacLean, Low Lily, and Alice Howe.
At approximately 6:30 a.m., the hosts will review the local Folk Calendar. This segment outlines concerts and festivals scheduled for the region over the next two months. The station aims to connect listeners with live venues in the Cascadia area.
Cascadia Coffeehouse is produced by a group of about twelve volunteer programmers from the local community. The show airs weekdays on KBOO. Listeners can access past episodes and playlists through the station's website and mobile app. Contact for the program is cascadiacoffeehouse@gmail.com.
