Tanner McKee takes over the Philadelphia Eagles offense against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. The quarterback enters the game after a full week of preparation with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. This marks a shift from last week, when McKee had only two days of first-team practice before facing the Carolina Panthers.

McKee said he feels he has a good preparation process now. He plans to meet with the coaching staff more often rather than preparing alone. The Eagles are coming off a four-game losing streak, their first of that length since 2020. The team scored only 58 points in those four losses. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve due to blood clots and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The Eagles face a thin running game. Saquon Barkley has missed more than two games with a hamstring injury, though a return is possible. His backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also injured. Carson Steele, signed off the practice squad last week, hurt his shoulder against Carolina. Dameon Pierce was the only Eagles running back to carry the ball in that loss, gaining 35 yards on the ground.

The Dallas Cowboys have their own offensive issues. The team scored just 29 points in its last two losses. That includes a 23-13 defeat to the Green Bay Packers last week. Dak Prescott has started consecutive games with fewer than 20 points for the first time since 2019. Dallas ranks 30th in the league in defense under first-year coordinator Christian Parker.

Owner Jerry Jones spoke at the NFL annual fall meeting on Wednesday. He said he does not expect to make more coaching changes this season. Jones described the hiring of longtime defensive assistant Mike Pettine this month as strategic and unique.

Several players are chasing personal records in this matchup. Javonte Williams has seven rushing touchdowns through six games. He is the second Cowboys player to reach that mark, behind Emmitt Smith in 1994 and 1995. CeeDee Lamb has 48 receptions, which is third in the NFL and a franchise record for six games. He is close to reaching 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the franchise career receptions list.

The division is in a historic slump. The New York Giants lead the NFC East at 3-2-1. The Cowboys and Eagles are both 2-4. In the past two weeks, every team in the division played twice and won none of those games. According to records, this is the first time since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger that a division has gone winless for six straight weeks.

Dallas is favored by 4 points. The Cowboys are 3-3 against the spread, while the Eagles are 1-5. Dallas leads the all-time series 72-58 and won the previous meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. Kickoff is set for 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN. The Eagles will travel to Washington on Nov. 1 and then host the Giants to complete their divisional slate.
