Oppo sets new flat flagship price at 1,799 euros
The cost matches Apple's top model and exceeds the price of Samsung's foldable, a figure critics link to rising AI component costs.

Oppo has listed its Find X10 Pro Max at 1,799 euros for European consumers, a price point that matches the iPhone 18 Pro Max and exceeds the cost of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 by 200 euros.
The device is a standard Android flagship powered by a MediaTek processor. A reviewer who tested the phone for several weeks described the performance, camera quality, and battery life as strong. The writer noted that buyers would be satisfied with the hardware, but found the price difficult to justify for a non-foldable handset.
The high cost is not unique to Oppo. Samsung's Galaxy S26 Ultra is priced at 1,769 euros in Europe, and Xiaomi is expected to charge similar rates for its next European release. The 9to5Google article attributes this pricing trend to industry-wide component costs, specifically citing the impact of AI companies on memory prices in a phenomenon it calls RAMageddon.
Consumer reaction on Reddit has been critical. Users pointed out that the new Oppo model costs the same as the latest iPhone 18 Pro Max. Others noted that prices in some regions are disproportionately high compared to previous models. The Find X9 Ultra, released last year, remains available for a lower price, with some commenters noting it offers more memory and a larger battery for hundreds of euros less.
The reviewer agreed with the criticism. They stated they would prefer the Find X9 Ultra, especially at a reduced price, and suggested the Find X9 Pro is a better value for many shoppers. A Find X9 Pro can currently be purchased in Europe for approximately 1,000 euros.
Some buyers in the United Kingdom have reported using promotional offers to lower the purchase price of the new device. However, the article maintains that such deals do not change the base price of the flagship in a market where smartphone costs are already elevated.
