Zelenskyy: Satellite Speeds Back to 400 km/h
Ukraine's defense ministry confirmed stable connections after restrictions on Starlink and Starshield were lifted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that satellite restrictions were lifted by the morning of 24 October, restoring full communication speeds.
The disruption began days earlier when equipment operated at speeds between 130 and 161 km/h in several sectors along the line of contact. Zelenskyy stated this interference affected logistics and limited drone usage. On 16 October, US President Donald Trump claimed the White House was not involved in limiting the system. The Telegraph reported that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk had approached Trump with the idea of restricting bandwidth for Ukrainian military networks.
Speeds started to recover overnight and reached the level required for military use by morning. Before the president's statement, the defence forces and Ministry of Defence experts recorded both systems working at speeds above 161 km/h. The Ministry of Defence later issued an official confirmation, stating it was registering speeds above 400 km/h with a stable connection. In a video address, Zelenskyy said, "Starlink and Starshield are back to operating at the speeds they were capable of before these restrictions were imposed. Now we have the speed we need."
The restoration is scheduled to support frontline logistics and protect Ukraine from jet-powered Shahed drones. Zelenskyy described the development as very important for these operations. The systems are now operating at their pre-restriction capacity.
