Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming opened its annual enrollment window on November 1, 2026. The insurer, which has operated in the state for more than 80 years, is now accepting applications from residents who wish to enroll in a new health plan, renew their current coverage, or make changes for the coming year.

Individuals who complete their enrollment by December 15, 2026, will have their coverage effective on January 1, 2027. The company stated that cost assistance remains available for qualifying applicants. Residents are advised to review their current benefits and assess any changes in their household or medical needs before selecting a plan.

Kris Urbanek, President and CEO of BCBSWY, addressed the decision-making process in a statement. "Health care decisions are personal, and choosing the right coverage can have a meaningful impact on an individual’s health and financial well-being," Urbanek said. "Our goal is to make the process easier by providing trusted coverage, local support and resources that help Wyoming families make informed decisions."

The insurer operates as the state’s only homegrown health carrier. It is a community-based, not-for-profit organization and an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. BCBSWY maintains eight locations across Wyoming to provide local service to residents and businesses.

Members gain access to what the company describes as Wyoming’s largest provider network. The plan also includes nationwide coverage through the Blue Cross Blue Shield network for travel outside the state. Additional benefits listed by the insurer include preventive care, wellness programs, care management support, and 24/7 virtual care through MDLIVE.

BCBSWY employees are based in communities across the state. The company notes that these local staff members understand the challenges of accessing care in rural areas. They are available to answer questions, explain coverage options, and assist members with their health care needs.

Residents can begin their enrollment process by visiting BCBSWY.com or Shop.WyomingBlue.com. They may also call 1-800-851-2227 or visit a BCBSWY Member Center in person to review available options.
